Crowne Plaza Yas Island (Abu Dhabi, UAE)
12:34 AMIt's been three weeks already since my scary bleeding episode with baby #2 and now, I'm slowly getting back to my normal activities of daily living. I'm taking a weekly progesterone injection to manage the bleeding but I'm still spotting on and off, so we're trying to be extra careful since I'm only on my 29th week of pregnancy. And because we can't take the risk of travelling out-of-town, allow me to just share with you a throwback of our family's staycation in Crowne Plaza Yas Island. We took this trip last June and I've totally forgotten to blog about it.. my bad! Nonetheless, it's finally going live on this page and I do hope you'll enjoy the update!
The hotel was fully booked during our visit, so it took us quite a while to check-in. Our room is just the average size but it's complete with all the basic amenities you'll need. One thing unique about it though is the bathroom's two-way glass wall -- a genius idea if you want to have some sexy time with your spouse (like you can shower or soak in the tub while your husband/wife watches you from the bed.. lol! Or you can watch TV while bathing, for a more wholesome idea); but if you're the conservative type, worry not for they have blinds that can be used to give you some privacy.
Crowne Plaza Yas Island has five bar & restaurants namely: Jing Asia (Asian Restaurant), Stills (European Gastro-pub), Barouk (Lebanese Restaurant), Views (Lobby lounge with magnificent views of the golf course and Arabian Gulf), and Sundowner (Pool Bar), but if you're on a budget, you can just drop by the near Yas Mall to grab something to fill your hungry tummy. That's actually what we do to save a few bucks (or to avoid paying extra for the tax and service charge on hotel food) -- just being practical!
Obviously, we're not so much into food tripping (fine dining or calling in for room service) whenever we go on staycations -- all because of my husband's dietary restrictions! He's got gout and gallstones, unfortunately, that's why. What we're really after, actually, is the hotel's health and fitness centre (swimming pool, sauna, steam rooms, etc.) and their kids' club as well. That way, all of us get to enjoy and make the most out of the experience. Win-win!
Overall, I must say that we had a pleasant stay with Crowne Plaza Yas Island. It may not be as outstanding as our Al Raha Beach Hotel experience, but surely, it will be one of those places that would leave a mark in our hearts for they have given us wonderful memories that we'll treasure in the years to come!
