Al Dhabi Airport Lounge
3:58 PMHello Philippines!
Yes, you read it right! Me and my family are back in our beloved home country for our annual family holiday. I'm actually on board the Cebu Pacific flight to Manila (from Laoag) as I draft this post -- we just had a four day tour of the northern provinces, so make sure to drop by this website in the coming weeks for more travel blog posts about our Ilocos adventure! But before that, allow me to share with you first my experience of Abu Dhabi's Premium Airport Lounge.
Last Friday, while waiting for our flight to Manila (from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates), my family and I got the chance to stay in the airport's VIP lounge for free. My husband, Ronnie, is one of the most (IF NOT THE MOST) 'kuripot' person I've known so far, and he would never EVER spend a single centavo for a luxurious lounge like this.
"Live within (or even below) your means" is his mantra in terms of our family's finances and I completely agree with that! Nevertheless, he still makes sure that we get to experience luxurious comfort from time to time by availing different promotions or by taking advantage of special privileges -- just like this complimentary airport lounge access across the Middle East.
We didn't really know that it is possible for us to stay in Abu Dhabi airport's VIP lounge for free until Ronnie's immediate superior told him that it is actually one of the privileges offered by NBAD (National Bank of Abu Dhabi) to their Platinum Debit Card holders. However, only individual card holders are permitted to stay in the lounge; you will be required to present your card at the front desk before granting access to their lounge (no chaperones allowed).
Fast food chains and restaurants located inside the airport are notoriously known to be real expensive. Good thing Al Dhabi Lounge serves a variety of International cuisine in their hot buffet and hot/ cold beverages in their open bar, so passengers can dine and grab a glass of wine while waiting for their flight.
Coffee lovers would definitely enjoy this place for unlimited coffee!
They also have four shower rooms and a VIP private room where you can take a bath to freshen up or catch some sleep in case you find yourself in a long layover.
Relax on the couch while watching a movie or a TV program, or browse a selection of magazines and newspapers, or check your email/ social media accounts for updates with their complimentary WiFi service.
Ronnie, Rafa, and I in Al Dhabi's Airport Lounge at 2:30 am, a few minutes before boarding our 3:15am flight to Manila, Philippines.
Isn't it great that there's a bank like NBAD which provides their customers an opportunity to experience a VIP treatment at no cost? Visit your bank's website now and check for privileges that you can avail for free and treat yourself to a VIP lifestyle without burning cash!
