Whenever I hear the word "Paris," the first two things that instantly cross my mind are: (1) the Eiffel Tower; and (2) the Louvre Museum.  Certainly, these are two of the most popular tourist attractions you shouldn't dare miss when you find yourself in the City of Love.

In my last post, I have already shared with you the beautiful photos of the famous Eiffel Tower, which I took from Trocadero.   So, this time, allow me to give you a glimpse of what's inside one of the most visited museums in the world, LOUVRE.

To tell you honestly, my family and I were not able to tour the entire museum due to time constraints.  It's enormous, you would probably need a day or two to see all the masterpieces displayed in the palace.  Yes, you read that right!  The building, which houses the world's most popular and priceless artworks, used to be a royal palace hundreds of years ago.  It was grand, opulent, and definitely breathtaking!  (My husband and I were literally out of breath after carrying our sleeping son and his stroller through the NUMEROUS stairs in the museum.  And by numerous, I mean, A LOT!!!  There are elevators available for people with special needs, but they're either hidden in far off places or currently out of service.  Hence, I would say that this place maybe a bit of a challenge to explore especially if you're with someone who needs a pram or a wheelchair.)

The museum has a lot to offer, a lot more than what you can actually imagine!  People who are basically obsessed with art will surely enjoy this place.  However, for non-art lovers like me, Louvre can somehow be a little too overwhelming. 

There are thousands of art pieces to see in the museum, but since we didn't have the luxury of time to see them all, we simply decided to have a look of the Mona Lisa and the Egyptian mummy.  Can you believe we spent three hours walking around Louvre just for that?  I'm not exaggerating here.  The palace is just really gigantic... I mean, overly gigantic!  It's the world's biggest museum after all, so I strongly suggest to plan your itinerary in advance and get a museum map to help you with navigation.  That way, your tour will more likely to be efficient, leaving you with more time and energy to enjoy other attractions in Paris!

Apart from the overwhelming artworks in the museum, brace yourself as well for the huge crowd flocking in this place. Musee du Louvre welcomes approximately 15,000 people everyday, therefore it's always wiser to buy your ticket online or get a Paris Pass in order to avoid the long queue of tourists waiting at the entrance gate.  

If in case you've found yourself bored, staring at the museum's paintings, sculptures, artifacts, etc. -- which actually what happened to me because admittedly, I'm not really a great fan of art -- I suggest you try to divert your attention to the building's architecture instead, for that alone is already very impressive!  Every corner of the palace looked so Instagram-worthy, making it a perfect place for shooting your OOTDs!  Just make sure your camera's flash is turned off because flash photography is strictly prohibited inside.

Touring the massive Louvre Museum is exhausting, especially for parents like us who need to tag along a toddler and a stroller.  Nevertheless, I would say that it is, indeed, one of the best attractions I've seen in the City of Love!  In fact, if ever we'll be given another chance to travel to France, I would still want to give this museum a visit and check out the other exhibits we didn't get to see.  (I just hope next time, we don't need to bring a pram with us anymore!  Lol!)

Truly, you can't go to Paris without seeing the Louvre!
